Australia's National Children's Choir - Gondwana Voices

Support Needed

Bursaries

Gondwana’s greatest strength is that it gathers together the finest young voices from across our vast nation and its greatest disadvantage is the costs associated with bringing together these talented young people to become Gondwana Choirs. Our organisation is supported by the Federal Government through the Australia Council and by the NSW Government through Arts NSW. The major costs for our activities however are carried by the participants. Unfortunately this precludes many talented young Australians from taking part.

It is our goal to ensure that in the future any suitably talented child has the opportunity to participate in our programs without financial, social, physical or distance barriers. Approximately 50% of our choristers are from regional or remote Australia. These young people face higher travel costs to attend our programs and in addition, many come from drought affected communities.

Thanks to the support of the following individuals during 2008 we were able to provide 6 full and 18 partial bursaries for disadvantaged young people from across Australia to participate in Gondwana 2009 National Choral School.
